Jade will be driving Racers Edge #30 Red Mazda RX-8 GT Car in the Rolex GT Class on Saturday and Sunday, January 30th & 31st, 2010, at Daytona International Speedway, a 3.6-mile, 12 turn speedway road course located in Daytona Beach, FL.  Jade will be one of four drivers for the Rolex 24 At Daytona race.  His co-drivers will be Jordan Taylor, Glenn Bacchino and Todd Lamb.

This race will be shown live on cable TV Speed Channel starting Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM CST / 3:00 PM EST.  Coverage will continue on January 31st at 6:00 AM CST / 7:00 AM EST.

Jade will also be driving in the Continental Tire Challenge Grand-AM Race on January 29, 2010, also at Daytona. Jade will drive for Racers Edge in 2010 as they unveil the new 2010 Ford Mustang Boss 302R for the season - opening Continental Tire challenge race in the Grand Sport (GS) class at Daytona.  His GS co-driver will be David Empringham.

This race will also be shown live on a taped delay basis on cable TV Speed Channel on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 6pm CST/7pm EST.  
 

RACERS EDGE ANNOUNCES NEW DRIVER PAIRING AND NEW SPONSOR

 

DeLand, Florida, February 25, 2010-GRAND-AM competitors, Racers Edge Motorsports, announced today that the upcoming Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series race at Homestead Miami Speedway on March 6th will mark the debut of the team's new driver pairing and new team sponsor. Jade Buford and Manuel Gutierrez will drive together in the team's 2010 Ford Mustang Boss 302R dressed in the yellow and blue colors of new sponsor Gume Transport.


Jade Buford, who is just 22 years old, has been one of Racers Edge Motorsport's team drivers since last July. Team owner Jon Mirachi was impressed by Jade on his first test with the team and immediately signed him for the 2010 season. "He is a brilliant young talent with a long career ahead of him", Mirachi commented. "Although he's only 22, he drives with a skill and maturity that belies his age. Empringham Tabbed As Second Racers Edge Driver


Two-time Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS driving champion David Empringham returns to the series next week as the co-driver to Racers Edge Motorsports' Jade Buford.

Empringham has several victories at Daytona International Speedway, where next week's season opener will be held. He won the first-ever GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 Daytona Prototype race in the 2003 Rolex 24 At Daytona, and earned a Fresh From Florida 200 victory in 2007.

Racers Edge is campaigning one of the new Ford Mustang 302 Boss in its first season on the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge trail.
 

Buford, Racers Edge Head to Daytona for December Test

DELAND, Fla. - Twenty-one-year-old Jade Buford, co-driver Jordan Taylor and Racers Edge Motorsports will head to Daytona International Speedway on Tuesday and Wednesday for the two-day GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 test.

Buford will drive the No. 30 Mazda RX-8, sponsored by IDEMITSU Racing Oil and Cobalt Friction, with Taylor, a two-time Rolex 24 At Daytona participant.

Buford will realize his dream when he steps foot on the grounds of Daytona, which is located only a half hour away from Racers Edge's team headquarters in Deland, Fla. It will mark the first time Buford has ever participated in any type of sanctioned event at Daytona, as he prepares to drive in his first Rolex 24 At Daytona in January.
